Abstract:Since the end of 2015, the supply-side structural reform has been carried out for more than six years. As the main line of national economic work in the “13th Five-Year Plan”, it is of great practical significance to conduct performance evaluation research on it. Using a five-dimension analysis framework of “three cuts, one reduction and one improvement”, we build an indicator system to evaluate the supply-side structural reform performance from 2016 to 2019 both in national level and provincial level. The results show that, after the “three cuts, one reduction and one improvement” in the “13th Five-Year Plan”, the overall situation of China’s supply side has been obviously improved. However, the reform performance varies significantly with regions. Besides, problems, such as large pressure of real estate inventories and excessively high leverage ratio of non-financial enterprises, are still existed. In the New Development Stage, China’s policy orientation to deepen supply-side structural reform at least includes the following three contents: (1) Cultivate innovative new drivers of high-quality development; (2) Accelerate the construction of the digital economy environment; (3) Improve the dynamic coordination between the supply-side structural reform and the demand-side management.
