It is of great significance for manufacturing enterprises to strengthen boundary-spanning search and knowledge integration behavior to accelerate the service-oriented transformation and improve the servitization performance. Using sample data from 96 manufacturing enterprises in China from 2017 to 2020, this paper analyzes the impact of boundary-spanning search and knowledge integration on servitization performance based on knowledge-based theory and compound basic view, and discusses the mediating effect of knowledge integration on the relationship between boundary-spanning search and servitization performance. The results show that both boundary-spanning search and knowledge integration have significant positive effects on servitization performance, and boundary-spanning search has significant positive effects on knowledge integration. Knowledge integration plays an intermediary role between boundary-spanning search and servitization performance. The research results provide certain theoretical guidance for enterprises to implement servitization and improve servitization performance by relying on boundary-spanning search and knowledge integration, so as to enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises and help enterprises develop with high quality.
