Abstract:Pulling digital rural construction from the demand side is another perspective worth studying. Does agricultural agglomeration create digital demand, and what are its mechanisms and characteristics? Based on the data of China Household tracking survey (CFPS), this paper uses panel probit model, conditional mixed process estimation and other quantitative analysis tools to explore the relationship between agricultural agglomeration and rural digital demand from the perspective of rural households, analyze the internal mechanism of agricultural agglomeration creating rural digital demand, and further observe whether there is heterogeneity in this role. The research finds that: first, agricultural agglomeration can create rural digital demand; Second, agricultural agglomeration creates rural digital demand through entrepreneurship incentive, capital attraction, closed breakthrough, cultural awareness and other paths; Third, rural digital demand created by agricultural agglomeration is heterogeneous due to income level, human capital, government subsidies and so on. These findings provide theoretical evidence and practical guidance for creating rural digital demand by expanding the level of agricultural agglomeration and driving the construction of digital villages with demand.
