Abstract:In the context of globalization, the international communication of intangible cultural heritage(ICH) is of great significance for promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, safeguarding cultural diversity, and building a community with a shared future of mankind. To explain the dynamic process of international communication of ICH and explore its context, driving force and effect issues, an exploratory analysis framework based on “space-potential-scene” is proposed. Space is the environmental basis for the international communication of ICH, determining its content and boundaries. Potential nurtured by space is a necessary condition for the international communication of ICH, influencing the relative positions of different cultures and the overall trend of their flow. Scene is an important practical model for international communication of ICH, which can effectively achieve the translation and diffusion of culture. Taking Li Ziqi’s ICH series of short videos on YouTube as an example, the theory-driven coding results show that its international communication has undergone a progressive process of spatial construction, potential generation, and scene expression, further verifying the explanatory power of this framework.
