Technology Integration is the set of technology evaluation and selectio n activities during the product R&D process.The paper draws a conclusion on the relationship between Technology Integration and R&D performance based on the case studies of the American and Japanese semiconductor indus-tries.The study shows that Technolo gy Integration is significantly ass ociated with R&D performance;and,there are two patterns of Technology Integration,which are revolutionary and evolutionary approaches.En-terprises should make the choice by t heir idiographic situation.Since C hina' s semiconductor industry is in the catching up stage,the author arg ues that the evolutionary approach i s comparatively suitable to follow.
