Starting from an analysis on the connotation,characteristics and role o f agricultural science and tech-nology,this paper looks back on the c ourse of China' s agricultural development and analyzes some problems that are present in this respect.With an e ye to the imminent challenges after C hina' s WTO accession,proposals are made in this paper for the developmen t of China' s agricultural science and technology.
