In this paper ,scores of modernization indexes 31provinces are calculated according to the modernization indexes system that is internationally accepted.And Principal Components Analysis Method and Classify Method is used to classify the provinces.Then the paper analyzes the characteristic of modernization level of China as a whole and the characteristic of regional d ifference.As to the variety in levels among the provinces,it holds the ch arac-teristic that both poles stand out ob viously while the level of the majority of provinces are relatively equal.
