This paper analyzes the present status of water environment in Three Gorges area of Yangtze River, and discusses the importance to enhance water environment protection and ecology environment protection in this area. To increase the water quantity and improve the water quality, some suggestions about water environmental safety protection and ecology environment protection in this area are provided. Practical technological, engineering, and economic measures are proposed for a comprehensive harnessing of water pollution. Water management is of much importance to the Three Gorges Reservoir area development and environment protection. This article puts forward some solutions, which include how to apply integrated water management, approaches to its resource development, environment and environment management; how to establish or improve water management authority, legislation and institution suitable to Three Gorges Reservoir area' s water environmental safety.
