Firstly, the economic development process in Hong Kong is divided into five phases on the basis of real economic growth rate. Secondly, the inner sector structure evolvement within Manufacturing; Wholesale & retail, restaurants and hotels; Transportation, storage and communications; Financing, insurance, real estate and business services is studied by using quantitative and qualitative method respectively. And the characteristics of its evolvement are also explored. Thirdly, the essay revealed the impetuses to the industry evolvement and its impacts on Hong Kong urban competitiveness development. At the end, the conclusion is proposed on the view of the regional strategic planning.
