This essay is trying to investigate the status and function of technology innovation in the new pattern of industrialization based on both the general historical tendency of the world's industrialization and the particular analysis of China's situation. It shows that from its beginning to actual progress, the world's industrialization mainly depends on the innovation and development of technology. Therefore, according to the analysis based on adjustment of economic structure, achievement of span development and intellective support, it is suggested that technology innovation is the necessity and strategic choice of the new pattern of industrialization.
