Based on the understanding of project risk and regional risk the paper identified and analyzed the regional risks involved in west development p rojects in China.Such risks include the industry risk,the political -le gal risk,the institutional risk and human resource risk.In view of project risk ma nagement the paper presents some appro-priate measures to prevent and contr ol risks.Setting up risk management organization,adjusting west industry struc-ture,improving the political -lega l environment,accelerating the tra nsform of capital market running system and government function,attracting an d cultivating highly qualified pers onnel are measures recommended by th e paper.
