Abstract:This article is an empirical study of the relationship between income growth of rural residents and eco-nomic development in China.It is found through the use of linear regression analysis that the relativity of the in-come consumption growths and GDP development to economic development is stronger for rural residents than ur-ban residents.Theoretical explanation of this phenomenon is given and ways to increase rural residents' income are analyzed.This article draws conclusions that increasing rural residents' income is an important factor to pro-mote economic development while raising wages income is the main way of increasing rural residents' income.
