To build ecological cities of sustainable development will be a significant object much pursued by hu-man beingsin the21st century.Based on the concepts of ecological city and sustainable development,,the notion of ecological city of sustainable development herein is put forward in the paper.Together with it,,the basic fea-tures of ecological cities of sustainable development are analysed,the systematical layout of ecological cities of sus-tain able development is established,and the planning and building of ecological cities of sustainable development expounded.,all the above-mentioned are of guidance to the city construction in China.
