Northwest region is a typical ecologically fragile area. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the ecological poverty in terms of ecological landscape, natural resource, the number of people and domestic animals that are in the need for drinking water, natural disasters (mainly drought), soil erosion et al. and probes into the measures to alleviate the ecological poverty. Based on the analysis, the policy suggestions are put forward to alleviate the ecological poverty in northwest region.
