Abstract:Since its joining WTO, China has placed itself in an even more intense international competition . One of the major strategies coping with the competition is to promote the integrated development of the Yangtse Rive Delta, a region with Shanghai as its center. This paper analyzes the power of the socioeconomic integration in the Delta, and concludes that the conditions for such integration are becoming ripe. Authors also analyze the main factors affecting the integration, and propose a model and strategic countermeasures for the socioeconomic integration in the region.
