Technology standards play a great important role in current economic and social life.The philosophy view on standards may be helpful to understand and guide technology innovation.This paper suggests that standard is part of the exchange information and can balance the scarcity and utility of information.It must be suitable for the development of economy & society,and for the demand of people's life and thus be result from compromise among interest groups.The main roles of standard are network externality and lock-in the technology route.When a firm makes technology innovation,it should follow the standard's objectivity and subjectivity,pay attention to the breakthrough of locked-in technology route and reset standard.
