Through analyzing the current status in the basic education of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), this paper puts forward that bringing up famous doctors should start with the basic education of TCM.TCM should bring up herbalist doctors according to their subject characteristics and rules, while should not take a shortcut or help seedling grow by pulling them upward. It points out that we should train new generation of famous herbalist doctors by using the learning way of father famous herbalist doctors for reference.
