The paper studies the evolutionary process of China's urbanization models since the economic reform, describes the historical trajectory of urbanization development accompanied by China's economic growth, and gives a reasonable judgment of future development direction of urbanization in China. The author thinks that urbanization models in China are faced with a significant and integral change, the direction of which is the interaction and amalgamation of the two urbanization models: "leave the land but not the countryside" model and "leave the countryside but not the land" model. Such a change is the corollary of social and economic transformation, and has special meaning for China, which is e xperiencing the structure renovation. Based on the above knowledge, the paper gives a preliminary analysis of the difficulties, contradictions and backgrounds of the two urbanization models, then systematically discusses the condition, process, mechanism ,form and route choice of the interaction and amalgamation of the two models, and finally draws the conclusion of policy.
