Using eight areas as analysis unit,the paper absorbs the idea of Development Research Center of the State Council that divide China into eight economic areas, and analyzes the regional distribution, change differences and characteristics of eight economic regions' patent structure by using a location quotient index and a sequence distribution mode. It will provide a valuable reference to the countermeasure design of arrangement optimization of S&T strength in our country and combination of regional innovation resources.
