This paper described the status quo of Chinese dairy industry in three aspects of industrial development, production and consumption, and scientific and technical innovation. The trends of dairy industry development are also given in the paper, such as single-breed raising, scientific feeding and management, modernization of the production manner, industrialization of high technology and large-scale management for high profit. This paper also proposed five countermeasures on resolving the preceding problems in the view of science and technology as follows: drawing national mid-long term plan of dairy science and technology, strengthening the construction of the basic R&D platform, encouraging researchers to do more original researches, inspiring the enterprises to participate in scientific and technical innovation, and taking full advantages of international resources.
