The Evaluation of Sustainable Development Based on Ecological Footprint and Human Development Index--A Case of Marine Fishery Resources Utilization in China
The evaluation of sustainability is important for the evaluation of societal development. A framework of sustainable development evaluation is developed based on ecological footprint and human development index. The societal development in China and its influence on the marine fishery resources is analyzed according to the evaluation framework. The result shows our development which based on the utilization of marine fishery resources is unsustainable from 1991 to 2003. At last, some suggestions on how to improve the sustainability of social development and reduce the influce of social development on marine fishery resources are provided.
