Starting with the analysis of the man - land relationship in the course of urban land intensive use, this paper explains the system of PSR conception about urban land intensive use and puts forward the index system based on PSR model, Then the method of principal component analysis is adopted to calculate the urban land intensive use of 11 cities in Zhejiang province with the formation of the index system and the result is graded. Based on the facts of Zhejiang province, two conclusions are drawn. First, urban intensive use in the northeastern of Zhejiang province is more intensive than that in the southern and western part of Zhejiang province, because of the difference location and industrial structure of these areas. Second, urban land intensive is positive correlate with the harmonious degree of PSR. This shows that the harmonious degree between every subsystem of PSR and other inner factors could reflect the balance degree of urban land intensive use, it also indicates the model is reasonable for other relative aspects to use for reference.
