Abstract:Along with the rapid globalization process, cross- cultural interaction and cooperation is becoming more and more important. This paper analyzes cultural disparity between mainland China and other countries/regions within Confucian Asia cultural clusters based on data from Project GLOBE. The results indicate that the cultural disparity between mainland China and South Korea is the biggest. On the other hand, the cultural values disparity between mainland China and Taiwan is big but the practice cultural disparity is small; while the values disparity between imainland China and Hong Kong is small but the practice disparity is big, they are both balanced between mainland China and Japan. In the end, a case of a Chinese shipping company is analyzed to explain the cultural obstacles and how to deal with them.
