Abstract:To fully exploit the integration advantages, manufacturing enterprises digital transformation necessitates the collaborative promotion of the industrial chain. The leader enterprise is an important driving force in promoting follower enterprises digital transformation in the industrial chain. Integrating upper echelons theory and change cognition literature, this study constructs the influence mechanism of digital sharing vision on the follower enterprises digital transformation from the perspective of TMT change cognition, and uses two studies (pre-research and formal research) to test this theoretical mechanism. The pre-study of MD&A text analysis of typical leader enterprises and paired follower enterprises found that the digital sharing vision have positive impact on the digital transformation of follower enterprises. Based on the investigation of the complete industrial chain with enterprise D as the leader enterprises, the formal research finds that the TMT change cognitive structure plays a mediating role between digital sharing vision and digital transformation, that is, the digital shared vision reduces the difference in the commitment of change in the TMT, and improves the intensity of the change commitment of the TMT, thereby promoting the digital transformation of the follower enterprise. Furthermore, the collaborative mode of chain leader-follower enterprises (contract governance vs relationship governance) not only moderate the positive effect of digital sharing vision on the TMT cognitive structure, but also moderate the influence mechanism of digital sharing vision on enterprise digital transformation. This study reveals the leading goose effect and its mechanism in the process of digital transformation of the leading enterprises of the industrial chain, which has a guiding role in giving full play to the advantages of China''s industrial chain and promoting the digital transformation of traditional manufacturing.
